Charges brought against Armenian opposition official

YEREVAN
On 6 April, the court of the first instance of Yerevan's Kentron and
Nork-Marash communities ruled to choose arrest as a measure of
restraint against Suren Surenyants, a member of the political council
of the Anrapetutyun (Republic) Party, the Armenian
Prosecutor-General's Office has told Noyan Tapan news agency.
Surenyants is being charged under two articles of the Criminal Code -
voicing calls to seize power and insulting representatives of the
authorities.
