Armenian leader not to have talks with radical opposition

It is not ruled out that the activities of the Armenian opposition
will die away and it will return to parliament, the head of the
Armenian presidential administration, Artashes Tumanyan, has announced
in an interview with Armenian Public TV.

He said that this will give a boost to an active process of
legislative reforms and everything will be returned to normal and
    civilized "channels".

There is a second option that as a result of the opposition's
activities serious personnel changes, let us say, in the executive
    authorities will be made.

Under a third option, the dissolution of parliament cannot be ruled
out. But in this case some extraordinary and urgent steps will be
taken because a new parliamentary election will mean more tension in
the country. It will also mean that the situation will be similar to
the pre-election one at the beginning of 2003. "I am for a peaceful
scenario but I do not rule out any other developments," Artashes
    Tumanyan noted.

Touching upon prospects for the resumption of the Armenian president's
meetings with the opposition, Tumanyan said that the head of state is
not against that. But the president is unlikely to have meetings with
the radical opposition. The meeting, however, will be possible if
there is a shift in the accent, the head of the Armenian presidential
    administration said.
