EVENT DEDICATED TO RUSSIAN-ARMENIAN MARTIAL BROTHERHOOD TO BE HELD IN
LORI MARZ OF ARMENIA ON AUG 21
YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Event dedicated to Russian-Armenian
martial brotherhood and the memory of Russian soldiers heroically
fallen in 1804 to be held in Lori Marz of Armenia on August 21. As
Russian Embassy in Armenia told ARKA News Agency, the event to be
held on territory of memorial complex of Russian-Armenian friendship
(located across the Spitak-Vanadzor highway). The event program
includes official ceremony, commemoration ceremony at common grave of
Russian soldiers, concert of military-patriotic songs performed by
Yerevan and Vanadzor artists and performance by military orchestra of

20 MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS TO BE PRESENTED TO ARMENIAN SCHOOLCHILDREN
SPONSORED BY THE ARMENIAN EMBASSY IN LEBANON
YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. 20 musical instruments will be presented
to Armenian schoolchildren with the financing of Armenian Embassy in
Lebanon. According to the Public Relations Department of Hayastan
Foundation, the initiators of this project are Nora Melkumian, the
Director of the Hayastan Foundation and Areg Hovhannisyan, the
Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon. According to the press-release, all
20 high-quality instruments are brought from abroad and will serve to
many generations. The children who will receive the instruments were
selected by a special committee, consisting of directors of musical
schools, music specialists and representatives of Hayastan
Foundation. The arrangement of presentation will take place on August
20 in Yerevan Music School after Sayat-Nova in frames of cultural
programs of Hayastan Foundation. L.V.-0--

ARDZAGANK ARMENIAN RADIO STATION CELEBRATES ITS 7TH ANNIVERSARY
YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Ardzagank Armenian radio station
celebrates its 7th anniversary. Egishe Petrosyan, the President of
Ardzagank Company said at today's press conference that the radio
station started its activities as an Armenian-language radio when
everything Armenian was alien in the Russian -language radio field
and the opening of Armenian-language radio seemed competitively
impossible. However, according to him, Ardzagank radio not only
withstood the competitiveness, but also went forward and now there is
an Armenian radio station in FM zone. This radio station managed to
find the golden mean between the spoken language and the literary
language. The President of Ardzagank also noted that the radio
station does not follow any particular style of music and thus
managed to draw and win a large audience. He also noted that the
company attaches big importance to news and information sections, the
duration of which makes 7-8 minutes per hour. The activities of
Ardzagank are aimed at providing maximum information, entertainment
and introduction of values common to all mankind. He said that
Ardzagank ideology is based on these concepts and added that the
major achievement of the radio station is its independence.
Eghishe Petrosyan also mentioned that festive arrangements will take
place tomorrow on the Republic Square in Yerevan, dedicated to the
7th anniversary of Ardzagank radio station. 25-26 performers will
take part in the arrangements, including the best singers popular
among the audience of Ardzagank. Ardzagank radio station was
established in 1997 and is broadcasting on FM 103,5 frequency, which
covers Yerevan and nearby territories. The potential audience of
