Students all smiles

NORTH Shore students were all smiles on Thursday, after being honoured
for topping the state in subjects including physics, business studies,
geography even Polish and Armenian.
A total of 12 proud North Shore graduates were presented with a
certificate for their outstanding efforts by Acting Premier and
Education Minister, Andrew Refshauge.
"Our Year 12 students are continuing to impress with their outstanding
efforts in their final year of school," Dr Refshauge said.
"These students should feel exceptionally proud of their achievements,
they have put in the hard work and excelled in their respective
subjects."
Awards were presented to:
Nancy Khederlarian for Armenian continuers, which she studied at
the Saturday School of Community Languages at Chatswood High School;
Abigail Deakin from Ravenswood School for Girls for business studies;
Catherine Lip from Abbotsleigh for geography; Daniel Plit from Masada
College for information process and technology; Suzanne Hurford
from Pymble Ladies' College for Italian beginners; Rio Katayama
for Japanese background speakers, which she studied at the Saturday
School of Community Languages at Chatswood High School; Jennie Han
from Pymble Ladies' College for Japanese extension; Peter Yoon from
St Pius X College at Chatswood for physics; Peter Slotwinski for
Polish continuers, which he did at the Saturday School of Community
Languages at Chatswood High School; Lauren Miller from Hornsby Girls
High School for society and culture; Maggie Li from Hornsby Girls
High School for textiles and design; and Nathan Kemp from Knox Grammar
School came first in visual arts.
