CE AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY READY TO ASSIST ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN
IN FINDING PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO KARABAKH CONFLICT
BAKU, DECEMBER 24. ARMINFO-TURAN. The Council of Europe and the
international community through the Minsk Group of the OSCE are
ready to assist both Armenia and Azerbaijan in finding a peaceful
solution to the Karabakh conflict, but in the end, it is up to
Armenia and Azerbaijan to negotiate peace, PACE Secretary General
Terry Davis says in an interview to TURAN asked how he estimates the
draft resolution of the Political Committee adopted on November 17
in Paris on Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
He notes that the fact that the Armenian and Azeri Ministers of Foreign
Affairs meet regularly is very heartening, and he wishes them courage
and wisdom in their search for the settlement of the conflict.
At the same time he reminds everyone that both Armenia and Azerbaijan
committed themselves upon their accession to the Council of Europe in
January 2001 to use only peaceful means for settling their conflict
over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
