TURKISH PREMIER HOPES FOR RAPPROCHEMENT WITH ARMENIA - AGENCY

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan today expressed his hope
that Armenia and Turkey would soon achieve an improvement in
relations. The Turkish prime minister said this in Istanbul today,
replying to a Mediamax news agency.
Erdogan said that he had discussed establishing peace and stability in
the South Caucasus at meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev
and Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, which took place in Istanbul on
28 June with the participation of Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah
Gul.
Replying to a question from the Mediamax special correspondent,
Erdogan said that it was important to continue tripartite meetings
between Armenian, Turkish and Azerbaijani representatives. The Turkish
prime minister expressed his confidence that "these meetings will help
us resolve problems in such a way where there will be no victors and
losers".
