CPA THINKS THAT NEGOTIATIONS FOR SETTLEMENT OF KARABAKH CONFLICT MUST BE
CONDUCTED ROUND IDEA OF SIGNING PEACEFUL TREATY BETWEEN PARTIES

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20. ARMINFO. The Communist party of Armenia thinks
that the negotiations for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict
must be conducted not round the issue of determination of the status
of Nagorny Karabakh, but round the idea of signing a peaceful treaty
between Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh on one hand and Azerbaijan on the
other hand. It is said in the resolution of the 36th congress of CPA.

The authors of the document mention that the signing of the peaceful
treaty will help to solve the problem of definition of borders between
the conflicting parties. The communist party also insists on attraction
of Nagorny Karabakh to the negotiating process as a party of conflict,
without which the negotiations cannot be effective. CPA calls on
the authorities of Armenia to give up further participation in the
negotiating process for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict,
if Nagorny Karabakh does not take part in it. Members of the communist
party think that the Karabakh conflict must be settlement only on
the basis of the right of the peoples for self-determination.
