EXHIBITION OF ARTSAKH ART
Azat Artsakh - Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR)
28 Sept 04
On September 28 the exhibition of the works of Artsakh artists
organized by the Artists' Union of Artsakh opens at the gallery
of the Stepanakert City Hall. The chairman of the Artists' Union
Lenord Zakarian informed that the exhibition includes the works of
the artists living and working in Artsakh, created within the past
three years. The last exhibition of Artsakh painters took place in
Yerevan on May 9, 2004 devoted to the three holidays. The exhibition
was moved to Stepanakert at the end of May and at the beginning of
June and with some new works was exposed in Stepanakert. "Judging by
the attitude of the visitors to the exhibition we get more and more
convinced that similar cultural undertakings are very much needed
by the art-lovers. Whereas in the post-war years the picture was
quite distressing. This means that people have managed to overcome
the stress caused by the war and overlooking household problems they
continue to live a spiritual-cultural life. I think this is a trump
card in the sphere of culture in Artsakh," mentioned the chairman of
the Artists' Union of Artsakh.
