Reports on capturing Armenian soldier not confirmed
The Defense Ministry has no information on capturing an Armenian
soldier, the Ministry press spokesman Ramiz Malikov told RIA Novosti
news agency.
The State Commission on Captives, Hostages and Missing Persons said
that they have received no appeals from international organizations
on capturing an Armenian soldier, AssA-Irada reported. Therefore, the
Commission is unable to either confirm or deny the reports published
by Armenian media.
On April 1, Armenian media issued reports quoting the international
working group on prisoners of war and missing persons saying that an
Armenian soldier, undergoing mandatory military service in Armenia's
Noyemberian district, allegedly fell into Azerbaijan's captivity.
