27.04.2005 03:12
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Armenian Foreign Ministry officials denied the
information that Turkey and Armenia had agreed upon the solution of the
problem of normalization of the bilateral relations, Foreign Ministry Press
Secretary Hamlet Gasparian stated in a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net
reporter. In his words, the reports that the FMs of the two countries Vartan
Oskanian and Abdullah Gul have agreed upon the package of confidence
building measures composed of 10 items are not true. `No such meetings were
held,' Gasparian stated. In his words, the Foreign Ministry reports any
talks between Armenia and Turkey at once. It should be noted that the
Milliyet Turkish newspaper had published an article, which specifically said
that the FMs of the two countries have agreed upon the package of measures.
The article also mentioned the opportunity for political, economic and
cultural cooperation, as well as stimulating a dialogue between the MPs of
the two countries. Milliyet notes that secret talks provide for the signing
of a document that will put an end to differences between Armenia and
Turkey.
