MILLI MEJLIS
14.02.2005 13:40
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Azerbaijan has received greater economic, political
and democratic development in comparison with republics of Southern
Caucasus, however "the questions causing our concern remain",
Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis Speaker Murtuz Aleskerov stated during the
meeting with the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe on Azerbaijan Andreas Gross and Andres Herkel. In
his words, "though Armenia has undertaken to assist peace settlement
of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, nevertheless, it does not fulfill
the given promise". The UN Security Council, the Council of Europe
and other organizations adopted relevant resolutions connected with
this conflict. But it is impossible to be content only with adoption
of documents. "It is necessary to impose serious sanctions against
the aggressor", he said.
