SEYRAN OHANIAN: FIGHTING EFFICIENCY OF NKR ARMY IS HIGH
YEREVAN, January 27 (Noyan Tapan). The Center of Primary Health
Protection again opened in Gyumri after the repairs on January
26. Free medical services and medicaments have been rendered to the
residents of the Shirak region at the center operating since September
1994. The center serves 8,000 patients today. Boston doctor of
Armenian origin Caroline Najarian finances the activities of the
center. Ruben Khachatrian, the Chief of the Public Health Department
of the Shirak Governor's Office, mentioned during the ceremony of the
opening of the center that the center is one of the first medical
establishments of the republic that started applying the anti-bacillus
method of the treatment of the stomach ulcer. C. Najarian contributed
to it sending necessary preparations. Besides that the doctors of the
center were re-trained in the US with the sponsorship of Caroline
Najarian. Three doctors and three nurses work in the center today. A
rich specialized library which is periodically replenished is also
established at the center.
