THE CATHOLCIOSATE OF CILICIA PARTICIPATES IN THE CONFERENCE OF THE
MECC COMMITTEE OF WOMEN'S PROGRAM
The Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) committee of women's program
organized a one-day conference in the museum of the Catholicosate of Cilicia
on June 25. The main theme of the conference was "what does being a
Christian mean?"
The participants discussed the role of women in the church by analyzing
excerpts from the Bible.
Ms. Nelly Vekilian participated in the conference on behalf of the
Catholicosate of Cilicia. Around 100 women from different churches
participated in the conference. About 20 of these were from the Armenian
Orthodox Church. The participants in the conference also visited the
"Cilicia" museum.
His Holiness Aram I gave cross souvenirs to each participant.
