Minsk Group co-chairs discuss Karabakh in Baku

YEREVAN (YERKIR) - OSCE Minks group co-chairs and Azerbaijani foreign
ministry discussed Monday issues related with transportation routes
throughNagorno Karabakh and return of internally displaced persons to
their permanent residences, Armenpress reported.
Nizami Bahmanov, the leader of the so-called Azerbaijani community of
Nagorno Karabakh, told journalists that the issue of "displaced
Azerbaijanis is the most important one," and that the region's status
will not be solved until they return to Nagorno Karabakh."
He also noted that there is some progress in the talks process and the
public might be informed on it following the meeting of the Armenian
and Azerbaijani presidents on the sidelines of the CIS summit to be
held in Kazan on August 26.
In his turn, Yuri Merzliakov, the Russian co-chair of the Minsk Group,
said it is too early to speak of the details of the negotiations
underway in Baku, saying the negotiations are to be continued with
President Aliyev.
