I hereby want to clearly state two things:
1) In my capacity of Congresswoman I am NOT participating in any
campaign to collect signatures to stop or prohibit the admission of
Turkey to the European Union.
2) The campaign which we are carrying out with enormous receptivity
by the Uruguayan people has as an only objective that, previous to
the admission of Turkey to the European Union, Turkey will be
requested to recognize the Armenian genocide.
3) ALL the social, cultural and political organizations of the
community in Uruguay are participating in the campaign to collect
signatures.
