CONFESSION OF SUSPECTED OF ATTEMPT ON PRESIDENTS OF GEORGIA AND USA

Arutyunyan suspected of attempt on the presidents of Georgia and
USA confesses.
Today the Georgian TV companies televised an operative video of the
Georgian Interior Ministry showing Vladimir Arutyunyan arrested 20
July in a special operation of the Georgian Interior Ministry who
confesses that it had been he who had thrown 10 May a hand grenade
towards the platform on Freedom Square where Presidents of Georgia
and USA were speaking. When asked about the motives of the act,
he used unquotable terms about the US President.
At the today's briefing Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said
that the 150,000-lari reward promised for information about a man
that had committed an attempt would be distributed to a few people.
"For 10 days an ad hoc commission will decide how to distribute the
reward proceeding from the provided information value," he added.
Vladimir Arutyunyan has been arrested in a special operation of the
Georgian Interior Ministry on 20 July in one of the Tbilisi suburbs.
In a skirmish he killed MOIA Officer Zurab Kvlividze.
