ONE MUSTN'T STRUGGLE WITH LAWLESSNESS BY ILLEGAL METHODS, PRODUCER
AFFIRMS
YEREVAN, JULY 22, NOYAN TAPAN. On July 21, nearly 2 dozens of
employees of the 6th department of RA Police carried out checking in
the section on production of audiodisks and cassettes, which is
situated in a shop in the underground passage in Yerevan Mashtots
Avenue. David Khanoyan, the owner of the production section, the
founder of the Reco-Records, informed Noyan Tapan's correspondent that
the checking started the day before and lasted till 2:00 am and the
law-enforcement bodies carrying out the checking didn't show any
documents grounding such actions. According to D.Khanoyan, referring
to the oral permission of the top leadership, the employees of the
above-mentioned department burst into the territory of production by
force, drove away the employees, confiscated the production and even
appropriated the audocassettes they liked. "How can they struggle
against lawlessness by illegal methods?" D.Khanoyan said. Answering
Noyan Tapan's correspondent's question, the head of the group carrying
out the above-mentioned actions who introduced himself as employee of
the 6th department Artur Khachatrian, also refused to show the
document about the permission to carry out the checking. He assures
that they have the right to carry out checkings and they will
confiscate the production in order to study it and prove that it is
false. In the affirmation of the section's owner, under the pretext of
protection of the copyright the law-enforcement body eomployees try to
hamper the operation of his enterprise, which is, allegedly, the
competitor of a certain "KK-studio" engaged in an analogous
activity. According to D.Khanoyan, the checkings are held in points on
sale of such production, as well, the owners of which are "advised"
not to buy the goods of the above-mentioned studio henceforth.
