Qatar is ready to assist Azerbaijan in military matters -- Official
BAKU, July 26 (KUNA) -- Visiting Qatar's Chief of Staff of Armed
Forces Major-General Hamad Al-Attia expressed on Tuesday Qatar's
readiness to boost military cooperation with Armenia.
In statements to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after meeting Azerbaijan's
Defense Minister Safar Abiyev, Al-Attia said the visit was fruitful
when it comes to reviewing Azerbaijan's military abilities and
economic status, adding that Azerbaijan must at first depend on itself
to free its lands that were occupied by Armenia.
He explained that he has discussed signing a military cooperation
agreement with his Azeri counterpart to ensure providing all necessary
assistance to liberate the territories occupied by Armenia. In
similar statements, Abiyev, who had visited Qatar last April, lauded
Qatar's overall support for Azerbaijan at all times in international
arenas.
Since arriving to Azerbaijan on an official last week, Al-Attia has
met the Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and other senior officials.
