Minister rules out Karabakh's subordination to Azerbaijan

Control over the liberated territories is the prerogative of the
Nagornyy Karabakh authorities and decisions regarding the territories
cannot be adopted without the agreement of the people of the Nagornyy
Karabakh Republic [NKR], the foreign minister of the NKR, Arman
Melikyan, has said in an interview with our Arminfo correspondent.
In other words, he said, all issues related to the territories
controlled by the NKR should be regulated exclusively on the basis of
decisions adopted by the people and authorities of the NKR. Therefore,
statements made in Baku about the territories and the withdrawal of
the Armenian forces from them are only an illusion.
The security and prosperity of our people are unthinkable if Karabakh
is subordinate to totalitarian Azerbaijan which is suffering from
Armenophobia, and in this sense, Azerbaijan has nothing to count on.
"We can only talk about equal relationships between our countries,"
the minister pointed out.
