Speaker says Russian arms transfer 'will affect relations'
Baku, June 2, AssA-Irada
Russia's recent transfer of weaponry from Georgia to Armenia will
negatively affect the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, says
Parliament Speaker Murtuz Alasgarov.
"The Azerbaijani people are very concerned and Russia should
realize this", Alasgarov said. He declined to comment on whether
or not Azerbaijan will reconsider the current lease of the Gabala
district-based radar station to Russia.
Russian media reported on Wednesday quoting a source from the Azeri
government that Russia's moving arms to Armenia would prompt Azerbaijan
to reconsider the status of the radar station.*
