EU DISCONTENT WITH AZERBAIJAN

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The European Union is deeply concerned over the
violence committed by the police against oppositionists and journalists
during the rally in Baku on May 21, the EU statement says, Day.az
reports. "The EU calls upon the Azerbaijani leadership to secure
freedom of meetings due to the President's decree of May 12 and hopes
that future rallies or meetings will not be dispersed. The EU also
hopes that the opposition will take all the necessary measures to
make demonstrations and rallies peaceful. The European Union will
closely watch the developments in the country", the statements runs.
