YEREVAN (YERKIR) - Kiro Manoyan, Director of Armenian Revolutionary
Federation (ARF) Bureau's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office,
met Sunday with Turhan Comez, a member of the Turkish Parliament,
representing the ruling party.
The one-hour meeting that took place in the lobby of the Marriott
Armenia hotel was also attended by Samson Ozararat, Armenia's
representative in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Council, and
Comez's partners.
The parties discussed issues related to the Armenian-Turkish
relations. Manoyan pointed out that a dialogue is possible only when
it is genuine, and the sides should be honest with themselves. But
the facts indicate that in Turkey, no sincere environment for such
internal discussions is yet in place.
At the end of the meeting, Manoyan, speaking to journalists
accompanying the Turkish politician, pointed to the role of press in
the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations, emphasizing the
need for responsible reporting
