Gazprom wins Iran-Armenia gas tender
MOSCOW (IRIB News) -- The Russian Gazprom company has won a tender
for construction of a pipeline which is to transfer Iran's gas to
Armenia.
The construction work of the pipeline is expected to kick off late
April.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia signed the contract for the
pipeline in May 2004.
The 100 km of the 140km-long pipeline is to run through Iranian soil
and the rest will be constructed in Armenia.
The 40km pipeline is set to be laid in border city of Kucharan.
Iran expects to export 36b cubic meter gas over twenty years once the
pipeline is being completed by 2007.
