Karabakh talks hampered by Baku's militant statements - Armenian
minister
YEREVAN. March 29 (Interfax) - Armenia and Azerbaijan have some
points in common in regards to the settlement of the conflict of
Nagorno-Karabakh, but the sides are far from hammering out a common
position for solving the problem, said Armenian Foreign Minister
Vardan Oskanian.
"There is the desire to settle the conflict on our part, but the
militant statements on the Azerbaijani side and, in particular,
[Azerbaijani President] Ilkham Aliyev's recent remark to the effect
that he does not see any chance for a compromise in solving the
problem of Nagorno-Karabakh causes concern," Oskanian told the press
at hearings on Nagorno-Karabakh at the Armenian parliament on
Tuesday.
