Defence minister backs second Armenian state in Karabakh - agency

YEREVAN
Armenian Defence Minister Serzh Sarkisyan today said that he favours
the existence of two Armenian states - Armenia and Karabakh.
Speaking at parliamentary hearings on the settlement of the Nagornyy
Karabakh problem, Serzh Sarkisyan said that he was for "a united
Armenian nation and two Armenian states".
The defence minister said it was "strategically beneficial" that "two
fraternal Armenian states - Armenia and Nagornyy Karabakh - have
parallel membership of international organizations and closely
cooperate".
