HARSH REACTION
HURRIYET- Switzerland decided to arrest Prof. Dr. Halacoglu,
chairman of Turkish Institute of History (TTK) only because he said
that Armenian genocide had never taken place in the history. Turkish
Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul harshly reacted
to the decision and said, "the decision is nothing but a violation of
the European Convention on Human Rights. I suppose that an individual
has the freedom of explaining his/her own views and it is one of
basic values of Europe, isn't it? It is a serious mistake."
