ARMENIAN TRAVERTINE ON ITS MARCH TO INTERNATIONAL MARKET

New technologies and highly qualified specialists enable Armenia to
produce facing slabs that match the highest international standards
and are greatly demanded in USA, Europe and CIS countries. Thanks to
the Multi Group Stone, branch of Multi Group Concern, 20-25 thousand
sqm of travertine is mined each month.
Multi Group Stone Company was founded in 2002. It has received $8
million of investments, $3 million of which was spent on exploitation
of 90 hectares of mine in Ararat region. Employees of the company
received the training of Italian specialists. The company is equipped
with the latest tools.
In previous years, Multi Group Stone used to export its output to the
US Canada, Germany, Russia and other CIS states. President of Multi
Group Concern, Gagik Tsarukian, is sure that travertine has wide
perspectives in international market, especial when the travertine
resources of Turkey and Italy, main exporters in the world, are coming
to an end.
