ABDULLAH GUL: PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA AND TURKISH PREMIER TO MEET IN
WARSAW
YEREVAN, MAY 11. ARMINFO. President of Armenia Robert Kocharian and
Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan are expected to meet in
Warsaw during the May 16-17 Summit of the Council of Europe. Minister
of Foreign AFfairs of Turkey Abdullah Gul stated during the meeting
with the ambassadors of the member countries of the Council of Europe.
As Turks.US reports, during the meeting Abdullah Gul mentioned that
Turkey is often asked to open the borders with Armenia, "but seeing
nothing in return for it Turkey cannot take such a step". According to
him, the Armenian diaspora does not want the development of the
Armenian-Turkish relations and is conducting incorrect interference
policy. Despite that the Turkish side positively apprehends the letter
of the president of Armenia to the Turkish premier. "In Moscow Robert
Kocharian and Recep Erdogan shook hands with each other. It is
expected that they will meet in Warsaw as well", Gul said.
