CE SECRETARY GENERAL NOT GOING TO DETERMINE RELATIONS BETWEEN CAUCASIAN STATES

in the Caucasus Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis
stated that he is not going to determine relations between the CoE
member-states. "I am not going to defend the interests of any state in
a single-sided way either. As CoE Secretary General I reiterate that
Abkhazia and South Ossetia are the essentials of Georgia, the Chechen
Republic is a part of Russia and Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijan",
he said. He also commented on the withdrawal of the Russian troops
from Georgia. "It is necessary to withdraw the Russian troops from
Georgia. The settlement is covered by the OSCE reference", he noted,
