PEOPLE OLDER THAN 65 MAKE 11% OF ARMENIA'S POPULATION
YEREVAN, May 18. /ARKA/. People older than 65 make 11% of Armenia's
population, Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jemma
Baghdasaryan told journalists on Wednesday. In her words, 28 thousand
single elderly are registered in the republic, of which 11 thousand
have no heirs. "Many of single elderly suffer from serious diseases
and confinement to bed is prescribed to them. Such persons need
round-the-clock special care", Baghdasaryan said. According to her,
65 older persons enjoy right of free ambulance treatment from Jan 1,
