SVERDLOVSK REGION DAYS TO BE HELD IN ARMENIA IN AUTUMN

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Sverdlovsk Region Days will be held in Armenia in
autumn, reported Ural media. The process of arrangement of the event
was discussed today by region Governor Eduard Rossel and Armenian
Ambassador to Russia Armen Smbatian. At a meeting in Yekaterinburg the
parties also considered the work over the agreement on cooperation
between Sverdlovsk region and Armenia. It will be submitted to
the Russian Government June 1, 2005 for adjustment, reported the
information department. In the course of the meeting E. Rossel told
the guests from Armenia about the economic record in the region. He
also drew their attention to the building being constructed in the
center of Yekaterinburg, where trade representations of the CIS
countries are planned to be situated. Chairman of the Committee for
Economic Policy, Enterprise and Property of the Council of Federation
of Russia Oganes Ohanian reminded that a few Armenian enterprises were
conveyed to Russia to pay off the state debts and they are property of
Russia now. He also noted that one of the largest defense enterprises
of Armenia can be lifted with the assistance of Ural residents, the
press release said. The Governor got interested in Ohanian's proposal
and promised that the President of the Union of Defense Enterprises
of Sverdlovsk region, Director General of Uralvagonzavod Nikolay
Malykh will visit Armenia in the near future to discuss questions
of development of commercial, economic and humanitarian cooperation
and implementation of agreements, reached during the visit of the
Sverdlovsk region delegation headed by E. Rossel to Armenia this March.
