GREAT NUMBER OF UNCLEARED CARS TRAVEL ABOUT ARMENIA: DEPUTY HEAD OF ARMENIAN POLICE
YEREVAN, MAY 20. ARMINFO. "A great number of uncleared cars are
exploited in Armenia," said Deputy Head of the Armenian police Ararat
Mahtesyan at the parliament today presenting a bill on motor road
transport.
He said that many of these cars were imported months and event
years ago. "It affects the state budgetary revenues as well, and the
situation need corrections. And the discussed bill aims solution to
the problem," he said.
The customs tax for import of a car to Armenia is 32% of its cost. As
for Jan 1 2004, 265.733 motor road transport means were registered
in Armenia with 15,039 cars were added to this figure within the year.
