During his tenure as first secretary of the Communist Party in
Krasnodar region, Sergey Medunov declared publicly that there are 1.5
million Armenian registered in the region. The number of Armenians in
the region has grown for the last 15 years. Therefore the present-day
governor is either unaware of that fact or pretends to be. The figures
he brings are 250-300 thousand.
Such a blatant lie is the highest manifestation of xenophobia. He is,
in fact, the first xenophobe who used to declare that the owners of
surnames ending in "ian", "shvili" and "ogli" are not our citizens. We
should not conceal the truth for the sake of historic Russian-Armenian
friendship and cooperation.
