HALF OF AZERI YOUTH SUPPORT MILITARY ACTION TO SETTLE GARABAGH CONFLICT - POLL

Baku, September 2, AssA-Irada 49% of young Azerbaijanis support
settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan Upper Garabagh conflict through
military action, says a recent public opinion poll conducted by the
hard-line Garabagh Liberation Organization (GLO) among 1943 respondents
in Baku.
54% of young Azeri men supported military operations and the remaining
36% - peaceful resolution. The figures were 37% and 33% among young
women respectively, according to the GLO.
The survey also indicated that 39% of middle-aged Azerbaijanis give
preference to military action and 40% to peace talks. The figures
made up 50% and 35% respectively among elderly people.*
