Turkish foreign minister starts visit to US; visit schedule detailed

New York, 11 September: Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime
Minister Abdullah Gul will depart for New York today to attend the
United Nations (UN) heads of state and government summit between 14-16
September, to accompany Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Erdogan's
contacts in New York and later to participate in the UN General
Assembly meetings.
On 13 September, Gul will attend an informal "Summit of Inter-Religion
Cooperation for Peace" organized by the Philippines.
On 14 September, Gul will meet the Dutch foreign minister.
On Friday 16 September, Gul will host a working breakfast for the
foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Gul will attend a dinner organized by the
French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy for French speaking
countries' representatives.
Gul will meet US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on 17
September. He will address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday 21
September.
Gul is scheduled to return to Turkey on 24 September.
