FIRST HEARING ON KARABAKH CONFLICT TO BE HELD SEPT 12
YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 8. ARMINFO. The first hearing of the CE Bureau Ad
Hoc Committee on the implementation of paragraph 5 of resolution 1416
on the Karabakh conflict will be held in Paris Sept 12.
According to the press service of the CE, the hearing will be closed
for the press. It will be opened at 9:30 am local time by Lord
Russel Johnston, chairman of the ad hoc committee. The introduction:
historical background will be presented by Dennis Sammut, executive
director of the London Information NEtwork on Conflicts and State
Building. He will be followed by Varoujan Nersissyan, head of the
department on OSCE of Armenia's Foreign Ministry and Araz Azimov,
Azeri Deputy Foreign Minister who will present the position of the
parties concerned.
Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the conflict
Andrzej Kasprzyk, the Russian and French co-chairs of the OSCE
Minsk Group Yuri Merzlyakov and Bernard Fassier, OSCE Parliamentary
Assembly Special Representative on the conflict Goran Lennmarker and
representative of the Office of the Special Negotiator for Eurasian
COnflicts, Department of State, USA John Crosby will present the
efforts of the Minsk Group, while EU Special Representative for
th South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie will present the position of the
European Union.
The hearing will be finished at 5 pm local time.
