Armenian Genocide in 1915-1923, when some 2 million Armenians were
slaughtered by Turks in Western Armenia's territory. A similar
conference was held in Kuban in 2005 as well.
Turkish Consul of Novorossiysk Ahmed Ryza Demirer objected to holding
the event by sending an official letter of the rector of the Kuban

recognize the Armenian Genocide. Conference participants considered
is a pre-requisite for Turkey's accession to the family of European
