Armenia and World Bank signs energy project

Yerevan, 7 April: Armenian Minister of Finance and Economy, Vardan
Khachatryan, and the head of the World Bank's representative office in
Yerevan, Roger Robinson, signed a renewable energy project in Yerevan
today. The total cost of the project is 8m dollars, including a
5m-dollar loan from the International Development Association, and a
3m-dollar grant from the Global Environment Facility.
The programme will assist the Armenian government in increasing energy
capacities through the use of renewable energy sources and in reducing
the carbon dioxide emission, the Finance Ministry press service told
