TOTAL AMOUNT OF LOANS PROVIDED BY ARMENIAN CREDIT INTITUTIONS GROWS BY 19.5% IN SECOND QUARTER
YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, NOYAN TAPAN. As of late June, the overall balance
capital of the 13 credit institutions registered in Armenia made
5 bln 652 mln drams (about 13.4 mln USD), exceeding the previous
quarter's index by 22.5%. The total amount of loans provided by the
credit institutions in the second quarter
made 8 bln 805 mln drams, exceeding the first quarter's index
by 19.5%.
Consumer loans accounted for 19.07% of the loans provided, loans to
industry and trade - for 25.3% and 14.02% respectively. The smallest
amount of loans was given to construction (2.19%). As of late June,
standard loans accounted for 94.9% of the credit institutions' credits
and accounts receivable, which exceeded the previous quarter's index
by 2.4%. There were no bad loans. In the structure of resources
attracted by the credit institutions in the period under review, the
time liabilities of natural persons declined by 2.2% on the previous
quarter, those of legal entities - by 65%. According to the Central
Bank of Armenia's (CBA) quarterly report, in the second quarter of
this year, there were no credit institutions that violated the minimum
amount of the overall capital or exceeded the maximum of the gross
foreign currency position.
