PERNOD RICARD EXPERIENCES HANGOVER AFTER RUSSIAN VODKA LICENCE REPORT

Owing to a publication error on the part of Rospotrebnadzor, the
Russian consumer protection service, Zao PR Rouss, the Russian
subsidiary of French wines and spirits group Pernod Ricard,
has had its Russian distribution licence withdrawn on health
grounds. Rospotrebnadzor caused controversy recently when it imposed
a ban on the import of wines from Georgia and Moldavia.
Pernod's Armenian cognac accounts for 55 per cent of cognac sales
in Russia.
