CONSUMER PRICES GROW BY 3.5% IN ARMENIA IN NOVEMBER 2006 ON DECEMBER 2005

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. The consumer price index made
103.5% in Armenia in November 2006 on December 2005, including the
index of consumer prices of food commodities (including alcoholic
drinks and cigarettes) - 103.4%, of non-food commodities - 101.1%,
and the index of service tariffs - 105.1%.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, a 1% inflation was
registered in the Armenian consumer market in November on October 2006,
which was mainly due to the seasonal fluctuations of prices of some
foodstuffs: a 1.9% rise in the prices of food commodities (including
alcoholic drinks and cigarettes) was registered in the country in
November on October 2006. In the indicated period, non-food commodity
prices declined by 0.9%, and a 0.6% growth of service tariffs was
registered. The average monthly growth of consumer prices made 0.3%
in January-November 2006 against a 0.2% decline of the same index
last year. The consumer price index made 105.9% in November 2006 on
November 2005, including that of food commodities (including alcoholic
drinks and cigarettes) - 107%, of non-food commodities - 100.8%, of
service tariffs - 104.9%; the same indices in January-November 2006
on the same months of 2005 made 102.7%, 102.7%, 103.1% and 103.9%
respectively. The consumer price index in November 2006 on 2005 made
103.6%, including that of food commodities (including alcoholic
drinks and cigarettes) - 102.7%, of non-food commodities - 103%,
and of service tariffs - 105.6%.
