AGRC ACTIVATES SYSTEM OF CORPORATIVE SOCIAL LIABILITY IN the TOWNS OF ARARAT AND VARDENIS
Yerevan, December 7, 2006. ArmInfo. The Ararat Gold Recovery Company
(AGRC) intends to carry out several social projects in the towns of
Ararat and Vardenis within the frames of corporative investment of
the social sphere.
The CEO & President of AGRC Mr.B.K. Sharma told to ArmInfo
correspondent that the AGRC uphold the value of giving back to
the community that supports our existence. Among the many ways in
which AGRC seek to express this ethic are initiatives that help
infrastructure development and healthcare infrastructure, promote
education and sports activities.
Unfolding the present plan under Corporate Social Responsibilities,
Mr. Sharma informs that AGRC has been a major sponsor for Armenia'
festival in France. Besides this a definite amount will be spent
on monthly basis for the school No.3 of Vardenis town as well
school No.3 in Ararat town for refurbishment & development of
infrastructure. Recently AGRC has also given its consent to Mayor
of Ararat to extend financial support for purchase of refurbished
refuse tipper for Ararat town so as to keep town clean & environmental
friendly.
Speaking to the correspondent Mr. Sharma informed that in past Company
has undertaken following activities under its CSR plan:
In education AGRC has offered:
· Customarily AGRC has been distributing bags & stationeries to first
form of pupil of ARARAT town every year in September. This year around
320 such pupil were presented the gift personally by Mr.BK Sharma.
· Financial support to two schools at Varthanis for infrastructure
development.
· A gift of books to the school library at Varthanis.
· Gifts of computers and peripherals such as a printer, scanner,
computer table and chairs to the Trade College at Varthanis.
· Scholarships to two students of Varthanis for pursuing higher
education at the university level.
· Sponsorship of nutrition requirements at a kindergarten school
at Varthanis.
In medical & healthcare AGRC has given:
· Surgical equipments, computers and bed-linen to the Varthanis
Hospital.
In games & sports AGRC has:
· Sponsored sports kit and shoes to the Varthanis football team.
· Gifted chess table and chairs to the community centre at Varthanis.
In infrastructure development AGRC has:
· Contributed to the repair of the Vardenis Church.
· Extended support for illuminating streets at Varthanis.
· Supported the repair of roads and existing street-lights at
Varthanis.
Mr. B. K. Sharma pointed out that the corporative social investment
will be continuing as permanent character where by it is committed
to promote the community development and provide social basis for
AGRC's business.
