YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. On December 8, the responsible
persons of RA Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs summed up the
results of at once two republican festivals, Pomegranate Grain (Nran
Hatik) theater festival and 3rd festival of Brass Band after Emin
Khachaturian. Deputy Minister Karine Khodikian gave assurance that
already traditional festival Pomegranate Grain has its spectators who
look forward to the regular festivity of the theater every year. In
the Deputy Minister's words, this circumstance is very obliging
and the organizers should stage more interesting performances. She
said that during 11 days of the festival about 5000 spectators from
Yerevan and regions watched the performances. According to Opera+
music agency Director Vardan Hakobian, the festival of Brass Band
after Emin Khachaturian held from November 30 to December 5 is
very important for promoting brass bands' activity and providing
band genre's development and spreading. In his words, the number
of children's brass bands decreases year by year in Armenia, which
threatens to existence of trumpet art. Mr Hakobian is convinced that
festivals and contests organized frequently in different genres reveal
telented musician-performers (piano, violin, song, dance, recitation),
but young musicians of brass bands not always have a possibility to
appear before the public. Brass bands, ensembles from Yerevan and
regions without age limitation participated in this festival.
