YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Though Gorik Hakobian, the head
of the National Security Service of Armenia assures that Zhirayr
Sefilian's deportation will not take place, there are exact data
that he, however, will be deported, and that the danger is not
excluded. Armen Aghayan, the Political Secretary of the "In Defence
of Liberated Territories" public initiative stated about it at the
working consultation organized by the opposition on December 11.
He stated that Zh.Sefilian is in the National Security Service where
he was examined. In A.Aghayan's words, "there is no grain of criminal
case," the authorities create a political background for Zh.Sefilian's
deportation. A.Aghayan at the same time expressed astonishment how a
person, who is accused of an attempt to implement state revolution,
may be deported. It was informed at the consultation that RA National
Assembly Deputies Grigor Haroutiunian, Smbat Ayvazian, Vazgen Manukian
and Hmayak Hovhannisian prepared a statement in which they protest on
the occasion of arrests of former freedom-fighters implemented by the
National Security Service. It was mentioned that the statement is open,
and other deputies may also join that document. A decision was made at
the consultation to form a statement text concerning the recent events
taken place in Armenia and to give to mass media on the same day.
