RESULTS OF YOUNG CREATORS' CONTEST SUMMED UP

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. Results of the young creators'
contest were summed up on December 18 at the Culture Center of
the Yerevan State University. Students of the Philological Faculty
became the first prize winners in the "Best Prose" and "Best Poetry"
nominations. Students of the Applied and Oriental Studies Faculties
took the 2nd place, students of the Journalism and Radiophysics
Faculties took the 3rd place. In words of Levon Ananian, the Chairman
of the contest jury, of the Writers' Union of Armenia (WUA), the
younger generation creates in its way, has new approaches and new
attitude towards the literary word. "I am sure that in some years we
shall have a new generation of writers who will rise the Armenian
speech and writing to a new and original level," the WUA Chairman
emphasized. He mentioned that the competition was held impartially,
and they themselves chose the best works. To recap, 50 claims were
presented from different faculties for the participation. Diplomas
of the Writers' Union of Armenia were given to 6 prize winners of
the young creators' contest.
