LEVON ARONYAN NAMED BEST SPORTSMAN OF 2006

Grand Master Levon Aronyan has been recognized the best sportsman of
Armenia. This is evidenced by the results of the survey conducted by
the Federation of Sports Journalists.
Levon Aronyan's victory was undisputable; he is one of the strongest
chess players of the world. It's worth mentioning that in 2006 in
Turin the 24-year-old sportsman became World Olympic Champion within
the national team of Armenia, won the Linares and Moscow Championships
and became FIDE World Champion.
In the result of the survey Aronyan collected 389 points. Karen
Mnatsakanyan (282 points) andf Roan Amoyan (254 points) took the
second and third places respectively.
