STUDENT COUNCIL OF YEREVAN ART ACADEMY REFUTES PUBLICATIONS ABOUT SURVEY ON CORRUPTION IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The student council and all students
of Yerevan State Art Academy consider as unreasonable and discrediting
that their academy was mentioned in press punlications about corruption
in Armenian higher educational institutions. According to the chairman
of the student council Hayk Martirosian and the December 20 statement
of students, no survey was conducted in the academy. At the same time,
they expressed willingness to assist with conducting such a survey at
any time. The academy management noted in the statement that it would
like some evidence for these "irresponsile and unfounded" publications
to be presented. To recap, the Sargis Tkhruni student union conducted
the above mentioned sociological survey and published its results.
