GEORGIAN DELEGATION HEADS TO BAKU TO COORDINATE GAS DELIVERY TERMS

    Interfax, Russia
    Dec 25 2006

TBILISI. Dec 25 (Interfax) - A Georgian delegation led by Prime
Minister Zurab Nogaideli has left for Baku to coordinate additional
gas supplies from the Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field in 2007. "The
precise amount and cost of Azeri gas deliveries will be announced
after the Baku negotiations," Nogaideli said. Georgia will also
receive gas from other countries, among them Russia, and transit gas
from Russia to Armenia and from Azerbaijan to Turkey. Turkey's quota
in Shah Deniz gas has been set at 2.8 billion cubic meters for 2007.

Ankara has agreed to share 800 million cubic meters of gas with
Georgia, whose initial share of Shah Deniz gas was set at 250 million.

The annual gas demand of Georgia is 1.7-1.8 billion cubic meters.
