RA PRESIDENT SIGNS LAW ON MOVING AMENDMENTS TO LAW ON LOCAL REFERENDUM

YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. The day before President of Armenia
Robert Kocharyan signed a law on moving amendments to the RA Law On
Local Referendum, Press-Service of the President reports.
An amendment was moved to the Law, according to which in case of any
administrative-territorial changes the government has to submit to
the National Assembly of Armenia a corresponding proposal, possessing
results of the local referendum.
According to the amendments, local referendums that are to be initiated
by the government will be financed not only at the expense of community
budgets, but also at the expense of the state budget.
