A secutiry officer at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport today told the Kiruki
Inquiry, that he was instructed to stage-manage, the arrival of the
Artur brothers for a press conference, at the airport.
David Bosire says he met Artur Margaryan at the airport parking and
issued him with a security pass for the press conference in which
the media were led to believe that the two had just arrived from Dubai.
He however says Artur Sargasyan is the only one who had arrived aboard
a Kenya Airways flight but under the name Arthur Gervokyan.
"We were asked to stage manage by opening gate 6, so that the guests
can pretend they have arrived, so that they can be covered by the
press."
Meanwhile, the airport's protocol officer Wesley Kiptoo, says suspended
Airports Deputy MD Naomi Cidi is the one who authorised use of the
exclusive VIP lounge by the Armenians.
Kiptoo says he had not been briefed of the press conference, but upon
inquiring was told that the brothers had authority to use the lounge,
which is reserved for guests of the state, or senior government
officials.
"It was facilitated by the Kenya Airports Authority and nobody from
the Foreign Affairs office knew about it.
"Everybody who was there had airport passes, and I realised they
were people who had been cleared to hold the press conference,"
Kiptoo told the Inquiry.
